About the museum
The Baccarat crystal works in Meurthe-et-Moselle was founded in 1764 with the authorisation of Louis XV. It quickly became a symbol of the French art de vivre and today holds the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label.
The museum, located at 13 rue du Port in Baccarat, opened in October 2023 under the name Collection Baccarat. It traces more than 260 years of creation and craftsmanship in a route bringing together nearly 400 pieces from the house’s archives and private collections. It honours the artisans of the manufactory, its great patrons and its collaborations with designers, artists and couturiers.
The visit includes chandeliers, perfume bottles, coloured glass and contemporary creations. It continues at the Baccarat Café, which overlooks the Meurthe and the Saint-Rémy church.
