About the museum
The museum occupies the house where Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte was born in Pau, an 18th-century townhouse on Rue Tran. A soldier who became a Marshal of the Empire, he later founded the royal dynasty of Sweden.
The documents, prints and paintings kept in the house trace the career of this figure from Pau. The museum holds the Musée de France label.
