About the museum
The Musée de l'Erdre occupies a former manor house restored by the commune of Carquefou, on the Renaudières site, about a ten-minute walk from the riverbanks. The venue serves as a resource centre, a place for visits and workshops, and a space for temporary exhibitions.
Its permanent display, entitled “L’Erdre vivante”, opened in autumn 2009. It presents the navigable part of the river, from Nantes to Nort-sur-Erdre, and the relationship between residents and this waterway, between work and leisure, past and present.
The Renaudières site also hosts a music school, art exhibitions at the Manoir des Renaudières and nature events organised by the town.
