About the museum

The horse-drawn carriage museum has been open to the public since April 2006. It is the result of one family's passion for selecting and preserving these vehicles over the years. Most of the carriages are displayed in their original condition.

The collection occupies an exhibition hall of 1,300 m² and includes around 70 horse-drawn carriages built by renowned 19th-century coachbuilders such as Binder, Kellner or Mühlbacher. Pleasure, travelling, hunting and sporting carriages are displayed, as well as commercial vehicles: bakery, butcher's, fire brigade, delivery van and hearse. Vehicles come from England, the United States, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Italy and Russia.

The museum has also lent carriages for film shoots, notably in 1988 for the film Comédie d'été and in 2008 for the television film Coco Chanel.
