About the museum
The Haribo Museum is located in Uzès, on the site of the former Zan liquorice factory. The factory opened in 1862, and Haribo settled there in 1987. The museum opened in 1996 and celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026; it describes itself as the only Haribo museum in the world.
The visit begins with the history of the brand, founded in 1920 by Hans Riegel in Bonn, and the origin of its name. On level -1, the remains of the old mill recall the site's industrial past. Rooms recreate childhood memories, an immersive room shows a 360-degree projection, and areas are devoted to the Tagada and Chamallows sweets, which were the subject of exhibitions for their anniversaries in 2019 and 2021.
The machine hall shows how the sweets are shaped, filled and packaged; in the bagging room, visitors fill a bag themselves with three kinds of sweets. The visit ends with tastings and the shop, which is presented as the largest Haribo shop in the world. A creative workshop for children and seasonal events complete the offer.
