About the museum
Bertrand du Guesclin, Constable of France, died in July 1380 during the siege of the castle of Châteauneuf-de-Randon, in Lozère. A monument with his recumbent effigy stands at the bottom of the village, beside National Road 88, and a statue of the Constable adorns the main square.
The museum is in the town hall, on that square. Its exhibition room traces the life and historical role of Du Guesclin using objects, models and images. It also recalls the Hundred Years' War and the 1380 siege, and a model shows what the castle may have looked like.
