About the museum
The Museum of the Vineyard and Alsatian Wines is in Kientzheim, in the château of the Confrérie Saint-Étienne on the Alsace Wine Route. It presents itself as a tribute to winegrowers and as a record of the history of the vine.
The visit tells the story of viticulture through maps, educational panels and guided tours. It shows the work of winegrowers and the trades of the vine, the tools and machines designed to work the vines and the soil, and well-preserved old wine presses. The museum also presents a reconstructed cellar, the tools of earlier generations and the art of cooperage.
