About the museum
The railway museum of Mornac-sur-Seudre is housed in the village’s former station, which opened in 1880 with the Saujon–La Tremblade line. It was created and is run by volunteers from the association Chemin de fer touristique de la Seudre (CFTS), founded in 1982, which saved this line.
The museum tells the history of the railway through objects and rolling stock. Highlights include a reconstructed late 19th-century ticket office, a lamp room (lampisterie) and a track with historic rolling stock.
