About the museum
The Musée Hurepel in the village of Minerve recounts in miniature the epic of the Occitan Cathars. Original terracotta figurines and staged miniature sets depict the crusade waged in Languedoc by Simon de Montfort, who sought to impose the Catholic faith by force. The museum was founded on the initiative of Michel Gasc.
The Minerve town hall describes the site as “the little museum that resists”. There is also a specialist bookshop, postcards and souvenirs.
