Temporarily closed (expected until 2026-11-28). Following a burglary on July 5, the museum is temporarily closed. It reopens on November 28, 2026.

About the museum

The Musée Lalique is located in Wingen-sur-Moder, on the former Hochberg glassworks site. Its architecture combines the old glassworks buildings with contemporary structures, designed as a single ensemble with gardens. The museum is run by a mixed syndicate (syndicat mixte) and opened in 2011.

The permanent collection comprises more than 650 works that trace the career of René Lalique and his successors. They are presented both by theme and in chronological order, from Art Nouveau jewellery to contemporary crystal, passing through Art Deco glass. The display is organised into five sections: jewellery, drawings, perfume bottles, crystal and glass.

The museum also tells the story of a family of designers: René Lalique, Suzanne Lalique-Haviland, Marc Lalique, Marie-Claude Lalique, and then today’s house. Each month, one work is highlighted, such as the pendant “Personnage médiéval”, the bottle “Dans la nuit” for Worth, or the vases “Cigognes”, “Serpent” and “Penthièvre”. A virtual tour of the museum, produced in 2024, is available on the website.
