About the museum
The farm museum, known locally as "D'r Isenhardts Hoff", is housed in a restored half-timbered farmhouse with outbuildings of the former owners, the Isenhardt family, on Eckenhagen's main thoroughfare. The Heimatverein Eckenhagen looks after the site on a voluntary basis.
The museum aims to show objects of daily life from the 19th and 20th centuries where they were once used. More than 4,000 items are arranged in the living rooms as if the residents had just left the house for work in the fields.
Besides the main house, the farm includes a barn, an old communal bakehouse and a coach house with agricultural vehicles and a carriage. The farm is regularly brought to life during Backes and Kappes festivals, the Eckenhagen country market and other events.
