About the museum
Gemmerich collector Uli Schneider has been a Beatles fan since 1963. In 1996 he visited what was then the world's first Beatles museum, in Cologne, and found that many of the rarities shown there were also in his own possession. This gave him the idea of founding a museum himself. After a conversion phase of more than two years, an exhibition on 140 square meters emerged in Gemmerich. It is continuously updated and now comprises more than 1,000 exhibits.
The tour begins at the entrance, where the owner greets guests on a zebra crossing in the style of Abbey Road. Poster and picture walls trace the stages of the band's career, complemented by photos, records and curiosities such as a Beatles music box or rare East German (DDR) cassettes. On the first floor there is a spot for small refreshments and a guest book; the second floor holds special pieces from the Beatles era. The band's hits accompany the visit, and the owner tells stories and anecdotes along the way.
The house is a private collection. Visitors register by phone; admission is free.
