Borusseum
Borussia Dortmund's club museum at Signal Iduna Park – with a treasury of BVB's major trophies and the club's history since 1909.
About the museum
The idea for a club museum came from the fan scene: former fan club chairman Olaf Suplicki campaigned for BVB's trophies and memorabilia to be properly displayed. The project was largely financed by donations from fans, including through a charity CD. On December 19, 2008, the club's 99th birthday, the Borusseum opened in the northeast corner of the Westfalenstadion, today's Signal Iduna Park.
After about ten years of operation, the exhibition was completely overhauled at the same location. A panel of experts from the club archive, journalism, and the museum field worked with the exhibition design firm MACHEN to develop a new concept with new storytelling, scenography, and media technology. Numerous items from the club archive that had never been shown before were added, while proven exhibits from the old permanent exhibition were given a new presentation.
The tour spans the period from the club's founding at Borsigplatz in 1909 to the present. A dedicated treasury houses the major trophies – the Meisterschale (German championship trophy), the DFB-Pokal, the Champions League trophy, the Intercontinental Cup, and the European Cup Winners' Cup. Films, a children's trail with explanations for young visitors, and a game zone complement the display cases. Other departments of the club are also represented; in 2026, for example, the women's handball team's DHB-Pokal and the Virtual Bundesliga championship trophy were added.
