About the museum

The name Berentzen stands for a long tradition of grain distilling in Haselünne. The Berentzen Hof is the company's old headquarters; its core is the Westerholtscher Burgmannshof, built in 1385. The company's history goes back more than 250 years. Thanks to good water, numerous distilleries settled in Haselünne over the centuries, and its grain spirit, Korn, made the town known. The company's nationwide breakthrough came in 1976 with the launch of Apfelkorn.

The estate has been open to visitors for about 25 years. Today it includes, alongside the distillery museum, its own estate distillery, the historic Burgmannshöfe with several event halls, a farm shop and a visitor center. The estate is part of the Berentzen Group.

The distillery museum is housed in the former malt house. It displays historic distilling equipment, bottle labels, posters and newspaper advertisements, as well as a collection of old glass bottles, illustrating the development of grain spirits and of the company.
