About the museum
The Bud Spencer Museum opened on 27 June 2021, the fifth anniversary of the actor's death, in the Römischer Hof on Unter den Linden. It is based on the private collection of the Pedersoli family, which had previously been on display in Naples at the end of 2019 and was expanded with additional pieces for Berlin. The listed building, constructed in 1865, housed the Hotel de Rome until 1910 and underwent extensive renovation before the museum moved in.
The exhibition traces the path of Carlo Pedersoli, who became a fan favourite as Bud Spencer – often alongside Terence Hill – in more than 50 feature films. On display are photos, film posters, costumes and props, including a VW dune buggy and a Ford Escort from “Two Missionaries” (German title: “Zwei wie Pech und Schwefel”) as well as a pinball machine. A separate section recalls Pedersoli's career as a swimmer, who competed as Italian champion at the 1952 and 1956 Olympic Games; his activities as an inventor, musician and entrepreneur are also covered.
The offering includes a cinema lounge with documentaries and film clips, a life-size figure of the actor, photo spots and hands-on stations, as well as regular evening events for fans. For its fifth anniversary in 2026, the exhibition was remodelled and expanded.
