About the museum
The Forum Willy Brandt Berlin is the Berlin exhibition and event venue of the Bundeskanzler-Willy-Brandt-Stiftung. It commemorates the former Governing Mayor of Berlin, Federal Chancellor, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, and is located on Behrenstraße near the Brandenburg Gate. New exhibition rooms were presented with an opening in October 2019; before that, the exhibition was known as the Willy-Brandt-Ausstellung.
The permanent exhibition "WILLY BRANDT" traces the life of the Social Democrat and opponent of the Nazis with documents, photos, and objects. His political path leads from the Weimar Republic through his time as Governing Mayor and Chancellor to German reunification, thus reflecting the German history of the 20th century. Three theme islands on democracy, Europe, and environmental protection highlight policy areas for which Brandt campaigned.
The house also offers an education program for school classes and groups, as well as book presentations, panel discussions, and lectures. A special feature is the 3D tour, which allows the exhibition to be visited online as well.
