About the museum
The memorial is located in the Crescentia Convent of the Franciscan Sisters in Kaufbeuren and commemorates the mystic Crescentia Höß. She was born in 1682 in Kaufbeuren, the daughter of a family of weavers, entered the Franciscan convent in 1703 and was elected abbess in 1741. She died in 1744; since then, pilgrims have come to her grave. She was beatified in 1900 and canonized by Pope John Paul II on November 25, 2001.
The exhibition shows valuable originals from her life, such as clothing and documents relating to her canonization. The saint's reliquary shrine is in the convent church. The Franciscan sisters lead visitors through the memorial at regular times.
