About the museum
Günzach has had a village museum since May 31, 1981. The Dorfgemeinschaft Günzach e.V. (village community association) collected historic objects from the village for years and set up the exhibition itself; it is housed in the former school building.
It shows the rural everyday life of earlier generations: a living room ("Großmutters Stube", Grandmother's Room), a forerunner of the gramophone, equipment for cutting peat, farm tools, bicycles and motorcycles, and objects on railway history. Picture panels recall events from the village's history. The collection is meant to bring back memories for older visitors and give younger ones an insight into the lives of their ancestors.
