Eulenspiegel-Museum

Museum about the jester Till Eulenspiegel in a half-timbered house in Mölln from 1582 – with staged pranks and the "Till-TV".

Opening hoursAdmission from €3

About the museum

Mölln is regarded as Eulenspiegel's town: according to tradition, the jester died here around 1350, and several tales of the chapbook are set in the town. A memorial stone at St. Nicolai church commemorates him.

The museum was founded in 1996 as a separate department of the municipal collection of Mölln. It is housed in a renovated half-timbered townhouse of 1582 on the market square, opposite the Historic Town Hall, which is home to the Möllner Museum.

The exhibition follows the figure from the publication of the chapbook in 1510/11 to the present – with local traditions as well as its reception in literature, painting and sculpture. Since the redesign at the end of 2009, well-known pranks are staged with media, and a "Till-TV" of its own reports with a wink on new pranks in Mölln.
