Wa! Germany – Die Expo zu Gast in Deutschland

Traveling exhibition with interactive stations from the German Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka that playfully convey circular economy topics – such as urban mining, hydrogen, circular construction, and agriculture.

About the museum

In March 2001, a few months after EXPO 2000 ended, former employees and fans of the first world's fair held on German soil founded the EXPOSEEUM association. Their goal was to keep alive the memory of the 153 days in the south of Hannover. On the former exhibition grounds, a small museum was created with photos, films, site models, and gifts from the participating nations; tours of the grounds were added.

The association, which operates without public funding, ran into financial difficulties several times. At the end of 2019 it had to vacate its premises at the Expo Plaza because the building was sold, and the holdings were temporarily housed in the former German Pavilion. As a result, there was no exhibition in the anniversary year 2020.

Thanks to a private donation, EXPOSEEUM moved into new premises at the Expo Plaza in 2025 and, for the 25th anniversary of the world's fair, initially opened on individual days. Since 2026, the association has been showing a newly designed exhibition there on selected dates, centered on a detailed model of the EXPO grounds based on the master plan of June 2000 – handed over by Deutsche Messe AG. In fall 2026, the museum is also hosting the traveling exhibition on the German Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka.
