About the museum
The museum preserves the history of firefighting and shows how the technology has developed. A special focus is the more than hundred-year history of the local fire brigade.
The collection was built up by a group of members of the volunteer fire brigade who, from 1975 onward, gathered and restored fire brigade historical equipment and made it permanently available to the public.
The roughly 3,000 exhibits cover a broad field: alongside large equipment and vehicles there are uniforms, helmets and equipment, but also toys, stamps and documents. At events the municipality presents the building as "our fire brigade museum" and also reports on the restoration of a historic fire engine.
