About the museum
The Heimatstube Hohenhameln opened in 1988. It belongs to the Hohenhameln local heritage association, which Herbert Fette founded in 1979. Much of the collection goes back to Fette, who gathered the equipment, tools and household goods of a small farm in the village.
The focus is on the agricultural equipment and work aids from this farm after farming ceased. In addition, there are numerous pieces from trade, industry and crafts that were donated from the village over time, as well as extensive holdings of household appliances and furnishings, written records from the last century, and photos of the old and new village. The collection now reaches into the 1960s.
