About the museum
The Heimatstuben (local history rooms) of Obermeiser are in the village's former mayor's office, a building erected in 1777 as a school. On the upper floor a small local history museum shows furniture, furnishings and tools from the past 150 years.
A working historic loom and a fully furnished shoemaker's workshop attract particular interest. There are also tableware and other household items, as well as everyday objects such as film projectors from the postwar period. A committee of local people that runs the Heimatstube looks after the collection and guides visitors through the rooms.
