About the museum
The Karnevalsmuseum Eschweiler belongs to the Förderverein Karnevalsmuseum Eschweiler 2007 e. V., which is supported by the local carnival societies. Since 2011 it has been housed in Dürwiß, in a converted former caretaker's apartment of a former bakery, which volunteers spent years preparing.
The collection shows the carnival of the towns of Eschweiler and Stolberg from its beginnings to today: prince's regalia, traditional uniforms, flags, costumes of the ceremonial masters, and around 3,900 Eschweiler and 2,050 Stolberg medals. Club brochures, documents, pictures, films and sound recordings are archived.
