About the museum
The mineral collection has been based in Viechtach at the Großer Pfahl, the striking quartz ridge in the Bavarian Forest, since 1977. When it was to be dissolved in 1993 for lack of space, the Klingl family took it over as a private initiative.
Since May 25, 1994, the Kristallmuseum at Linprunstraße 4 has been run privately. It shows minerals and crystals as well as healing stones, supplemented by information about the Pfahl and mineralogy. The operators continually expand the exhibition.
