About the museum
The Kutschenmuseum in Hinterstein goes back to the collection of Martin Weber, who gathered carriages and sleighs over many years. The vehicles are not lined up in rows, but displayed in elaborately designed scenes with life-size figures and taxidermied animals.
The collection includes a historic hearse from Bohemia; the objects come from all over Europe. Mirror walls and rotating mirror balls intensify the theatrical effect. The presentation changes from time to time.
After a renovation lasting several years, the house reopened. It is located in the mountain village of Hinterstein, which belongs to the holiday region of Bad Hindelang, and makes a good starting point for short hikes.
