TALENTOPIA – Die Ausstellung zum Mitmachen

Interactive show in which children discover their own strengths at stations on art, music, logic, movement, language, and togetherness – with a construction site, costumes, an analog "control center," and a sound kitchen.

About the museum

The Labyrinth Kindermuseum opened on September 12, 1997, as a project of the sociocultural center Fabrik Osloer Straße in Wedding. The name stands for the guiding motto "Finde deinen Weg" (find your way): children are meant to learn through their own trial and discovery rather than through instruction – there is no actual maze in the building.

The museum is housed in a listed workshop hall from 1890, where machines for match production were once assembled. On about 1,000 square meters spread across the first floor and a gallery, a new hands-on exhibition for 3- to 11-year-olds is created roughly every year and a half to two years. Topics so far have ranged from soap bubbles, fairy tales, and the world of Astrid Lindgren to health, movement, and urban planning, and on to diversity and environmental protection; several shows later traveled to other museums as loan exhibitions.

Since May 2025, "Talentopia" has been on view, focusing on children's different talents. Alongside family visits on weekends, the museum's work is shaped by group visits from daycare centers, after-school programs, and schools, as well as holiday programs, children's birthday parties, and training for educators. According to the museum, more than 1.7 million visitors have come since it opened.
