About the museum
The Literaturhaus Magdeburg is a cultural institution in the Buckau district that promotes literature and literary life in Magdeburg and the surrounding area. It is run by the association Literaturhaus Magdeburg e. V.
Alongside readings and the annual Magdeburger Literaturwochen (Magdeburg Literature Weeks), the house presents exhibitions on regional authors and on books and bookmaking. Permanently on display are Erich Weinert's study and a small cabinet exhibition on Carl Leberecht Immermann.
An archive and a reference library make the literary estates and works of local and regional writers accessible. For children there is the Literaturhäuschen with events and the Buckauer Bücherbutze.
