About the museum
Märklin World Titisee is located in the M-A-C art district in the middle of Titisee's pedestrian zone. Across more than 450 square meters, it shows the history of the Märklin company from 1859 to the present, through its products: tinplate toys, model trains, construction sets and much more.
According to its own information, it is the only private museum worldwide that is recognized by Märklin. It also belongs to the Baden-Württemberg museum association. Owner Hans-Jörg Franz wants to show today's children what their father, grandfather and great-grandfather played with. The museum is run jointly by the Franz and Kuhn families.
The centerpiece is four H0 display layouts with material from different eras. The layouts cover about 120 square meters with around 1,000 meters of track, more than 1,000 figures and 3,000 trees. Some 150 locomotives and more than 300 wagons run on M, K and C track, operated in analog or digital mode or controlled by PC. More than 20 display cases show exhibits from the 19th to the 21st century. The walls of the middle floor also serve as a gallery for regional artists.
