About the museum
Nechern is the home village of the Sorbian painter, draftsman and graphic artist Martin Nowak-Neumann (1900 to 1990). With his work "Mišter Krabat" he brought the best-known Sorbian legend back into public awareness in 1954: the story of the Eutrich farmhand who took up the black arts.
The carefully restored house on Lindenweg is now open to visitors. On view are a faithfully furnished shop, a uniquely furnished parlor and the artist's studio. Behind the house, his small paradise garden invites visitors to linger. The house is also the starting point of a circular walking trail through Nechern.
