About the museum
The museum belongs to the Kaulfuss family business, which has sold herbs, teas and spices in Abtswind since the early 1950s and is now run by Norbert Kaulfuss. It is housed in a barn about 450 years old, which was converted for the exhibition and spans four floors.
On display are around 100-year-old original machines from herb and tea processing, a collection of more than 18,000 tea cartons from around the world, and a herb touch box for testing your own knowledge. The exhibition covers the trade in spices and herbs and their healing effects, and calls itself the largest private spice museum in the world.
