About the museum
The collector Hans Klein opened his collection to visitors in 1982. It is known under the title "Die Vielfalt der Steine" (The Diversity of Stones) and shows fossils, minerals, prehistoric and early historical finds, and agricultural tools. The pieces come not only from Franconia but from all continents.
Among the exhibits are a saurian skull from Kleinlangheim, a Neolithic large blade of chert from Knetzgau, the largest egg in the world, from an extinct giant ostrich-like bird from Madagascar, as well as a lunar meteorite and a piece of the Neuschwanstein meteorite. Since the collector's death, his daughter has guided visitors through the rooms. The museum includes a small sales stand offering minerals, fossils and jewelry.
