About the museum
The parsonage at Neue Gartenstraße 16 in Döbrichau was built as a half-timbered house in 1786 and is a listed monument. It belongs to the village center, which is also shaped by the half-timbered church and well-preserved three-sided farmsteads (Dreiseitenhöfe).
In 1995 a Heimatstube, a small village museum, was set up in the parsonage. It collects records of the regional history of Döbrichau, including finds from the Stone Age.
A special item is the village's first wooden road surface, discovered in 1993 during road construction. Döbrichau was formerly an administrative parish village (Amts-Kirchdorf) and a post-horse relay station on the trade route from Leipzig to Frankfurt (Oder).
