Oldtimermuseum Zollernalb
Vintage car museum in a former department store in Hechingen with rotating displays of cars, motorcycles and tractors as well as a calendar museum.
About the museum
The Oldtimermuseum Zollernalb opened in Hechingen in 2009. It uses the rooms of the former Zollerpark department store and offers about 1,800 square meters of exhibition space. It is run by private collectors; Georg Lohmüller, Karlheinz Baumeister and Josef Lerner are named as those responsible.
The development of motorized vehicles since 1886 is shown. More than 100 cars, motorcycles and tractors are on view, with the holdings regularly rotated so that the presentation changes again and again. A museum workshop offers insights into restoration and parts manufacturing.
The vehicle show is complemented by a calendar museum that, according to the tourism association, is unique in Europe, as well as by artworks on the theme of vintage cars and people, created in collaboration with an art academy. Individual historic vehicles can also be rented or bought.
