Pumuckl-Museum in Uthlede
Private collection of over 1,000 Pumuckl objects in a garden house in Uthlede, free to visit by arrangement.
About the museum
The Pumuckl-Museum in Uthlede, part of Hagen im Bremischen, is the private collection of Sven Coorßen. His passion for the red-haired goblin from Ellis Kaut's stories began around 1983, when he went to sea as a cook in the navy.
From a few figures grew, over time, an extensive collection, which the collector assembled at flea markets, on the internet, and at fairs, or received as gifts. For over ten years he has presented it in his specially converted garden house, where books, games, plush figures, tableware, school bags, and sports equipment with Pumuckl motifs are arranged thematically.
By now the collection comprises more than 1,000 exhibits. Special pieces include a dedicated picture by the Pumuckl illustrator Barbara von Johnson as well as autograph cards of Ellis Kaut, Hans Clarin, and Gustl Bayrhammer. It is said to be the only Pumuckl museum in northern Germany.
