About the museum
The Puppenstubenmuseum in Zimmerschied is a private exhibition that grew out of a collection assembled over decades. More than a thousand dolls in many sizes and designs have been gathered; the oldest pieces date from around 1890.
Particularly revealing are the dollhouse rooms, dollhouses and toy shops (Kaufmannsläden), in which family life, everyday shopping and the changes in comfort and fashion over past decades are reflected. Other children's toys include doll kitchens, doll carriages and toy castles.
