About the museum

Altnau collector Reinhard Bareinz has been gathering tools and later power machines for more than 30 years. This passion led to a technical collection of the Bareinz family, which includes historical stationary engines, steam engines and tractors from 1890 to 1945; more than 50 exhibits belong to it.

Tractors and motorcycles reach into the early GDR period and are meant to preserve the cultural heritage of that era. According to the town of Calau, only three collectors in Brandenburg devote themselves to this rare field; the collection is considered unique in the Niederlausitz (Lower Lusatia) region.
