About the museum

Eugen Kiemele (1937–2025) grew up on a farm in Seifertshofen. Instead of becoming a racing driver, he took over his parents' farm, repaired agricultural machinery and vehicles on the side, and after the war traded in decommissioned US Army vehicles. From this grew a passion for collecting that soon included furniture, household appliances, and even aircraft. Until a serious accident in 1976, he also raced in Formula Vee; his roughly 2,000 trophies are now part of the collection.

In 1984, Kiemele made his holdings accessible as a museum; the Lanz Bulldog and Steam Festival has taken place on the grounds since 1981. After farming was given up, all buildings and halls of the property are used for the museum and for trade; the trading business is run by his son Hans Kiemele.

On about 12,000 square meters, the museum shows tens of thousands of objects from about a hundred years of living, working, and technology: tractors and agricultural machinery, steam engines and steamrollers, tracked vehicles and tanks, workshops of various crafts, toys, and household goods. In 2015, the military history section was redesigned with dioramas.
