About the museum
The painter and priest Sieger Köder decorated numerous churches, chapels and public places in Ellwangen and the surrounding region with his pictures and designs. His work has been documented since May 2011 in its own building in Ellwangen's city center, the museum "Bild und Bibel" (Picture and Bible).
Across roughly 670 square meters, the museum shows about 150 exhibits in twelve thematic stations. Visitors are welcomed into a bright foyer with a museum shop. The route leads through rooms where spatial quotations and short reflective texts help visitors follow the artist's artistic and theological interpretations and open up his visual language.
The museum is run by the Sieger Köder-Stiftung Kunst und Bibel, a church foundation under private law. Other places that commemorate the artist are the Sieger Köder Zentrum in Rosenberg and the Kunst am Stefansplatz in Wasseralfingen.
