About the museum
The Westerwald-Museum für Motorrad und Technik opened on June 6, 1993. Founders Agnes and Gerhard Weller had previously run a vintage vehicle treasure trove well known among enthusiasts and wanted to show their treasures to a wider audience. Since 1995, the museum has been housed in a larger hall.
The focus is on BMW motorcycles and accessories. The collection also includes machines from Zündapp, Horex, Kreidler, NSU and other manufacturers. The exhibition is divided into themed areas such as the Werkstattecke (workshop corner), the Zündapp section, the police section, the Miele corner, and motorcycles and bicycles. The collection also includes objects related to mobility and daily life in the Westerwald.
