About the museum
The Laboratorio-Museo Tecnologic@mente tells the story of Olivetti, one of the most significant industrial stories of 20th-century Italy. It describes itself as a “permanent laboratory” where the ideas and passions of the community come together: besides preserving the traces of industry, it aims to pass on values, connect generations and contribute to a new idea of work.
The museum is run by the Fondazione Natale Capellaro together with the volunteer group “Tecnologicamente Amici” and works with the local area to collect stories, skills and experiences, valuing both tangible and intangible heritage.
The collection is organised into sections dedicated to people: writing, linked to Camillo Olivetti, founder of the first Italian typewriter factory; mechanical calculation, dedicated to Natale Capellaro; electronic calculation, dedicated to Pier Giorgio Perotto; the personal computer, dedicated to Roberto Olivetti; the Programma 101, presented as the world's first desktop computer; and the Elea 9003, dedicated to Adriano Olivetti. The museum also offers educational routes, workshops and a travelling museum.
