About the museum
The Museo civico di Russi is housed in the ancient fortress of the 14th century, the Rocca built by Guido da Polenta, lord of Ravenna, and completed in 1371. In the mid-19th century the building was turned into a hospital.
The museum is closely tied to the roots of the town and its territory. Through its collections it illustrates the history and origins of the area and the changes it has undergone, and it preserves the memories and works of its most distinguished personalities and artists.
The route is divided into four sections: the archaeological collection of the Roman villa of Russi, the Sale della Città, the works of art from the collection of the Azienda USL di Ravenna and the Alfredo Baccarini archive fund.
