About the museum
The collection began in 1972 as part of the teaching activity of the state middle school Lorenzini in Sesto Fiorentino: pupils and teachers recovered over three hundred and thirty objects from the surrounding countryside, including farm tools and machines and implements of everyday use, which bear witness to the life and work of farming families. The museum is named after Professor Bruno Carmagnini, who worked to create it.
The seat is a restored rural building, the so-called Casa del Guidi. The objects are displayed with a teaching approach and accompanied by labels explaining their use: from tools for working in the fields and woods to implements for stables and farm buildings, as well as several looms for weaving.
The museum also hosts exhibitions linked to the life and culture of the area.
