About the museum

The Fondazione Casa Natale di Enzo Ferrari – Museo was founded in 2003 with the aim of promoting Modena's motoring tradition and creating a museum complex in Modena dedicated to Enzo Ferrari. The museum was inaugurated on 10 March 2012 and is now managed by Ferrari S.p.A.

The complex includes the house-workshop in which Enzo Ferrari was born in 1898 and later worked, restored, and a new gallery designed by the architect Jan Kaplický, who died before the works were finished and was replaced by Andrea Morgante for the interiors. The building has the shape of a car bonnet and is yellow, the colour of Modena and the background of the Cavallino Rampante (the prancing horse); the white interiors, with undulating forms, showcase the cars, displayed on turntables.

The visit offers an exhibition section with racing and road cars and rotating exhibitions, with spaces devoted to the history of the company and the life of the founder. The museum also includes an event room, a teaching room, a shop and a café. Together with the Museo Ferrari in Maranello, it is part of the Musei Ferrari.
