About the museum
The Châtillon parish museum is inside the parish church of Saints Peter and Paul, inaugurated in its present form in 1905. The parish is documented from the 12th century, but little remains of the medieval building.
The display area occupies a small space on the left side of the presbytery. Like other parish museums in the Aosta Valley, which began to be set up from the mid-1980s, it houses sacred objects and liturgical furnishings gathered over time in the sacristies and chapels of the community.
The collection includes liturgical goldwork, 15th-century wooden statues of saints and sacred vestments from the 16th to the 18th centuries.
