About the museum

STEP FuturAbility District is an interactive museum devoted to the digital future, created by Fastweb within its Milan headquarters on Piazza Adriano Olivetti, in a former industrial area south of the Porta Romana freight yard. After an open-house weekend, the route opened to the public on 31 May 2022.

Several studios contributed to the project: the architecture of the spaces is by the studio Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, the exhibition design by Gio’ Forma, and the content and interactions were developed by Clonwerk.

The route consists of ten stops with dynamic installations, immersive environments and multimedia walls addressing topics such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cloud computing, 5G, the transformation of work, sustainable housing, mobility and telemedicine. Visitors proceed in small groups with the help of a smartphone handed out at the entrance. At the end they receive a personal profile, the “FuturAbility”, which describes their attitude towards the future and suggests courses and workshops. In addition to the route, STEP hosts workshops, meetings, family workshops and an events space.
