About the museum
The museum was dedicated to Jānis Jaunsudrabiņš in 1967 in the historic farmstead “Riekstiņi”, which in the writer's childhood memoir “Baltā grāmata” (The White Book) is depicted as “Mūsmājas” (Our Home). Various exhibitions are housed in the rooms of five farm buildings. The farmstead is about 200 years old and is a state-protected cultural monument.
The museum is located in a quiet, hilly area 7 km east of Nereta and 2.5 km from the P73 road. Several places mentioned in “Baltā grāmata” are marked in the surroundings and can be followed on a special trail.
