About the museum
Palazzo Parisio stands on Victory Square in Naxxar. It was built in 1733 and later decorated by Marquis Giuseppe Scicluna in 1898; it is sometimes called a miniature Versailles. The Parisio and Scicluna families shaped the house over the years.
The interiors include a gilded ballroom, frescoed salons, art-lined halls, antique furniture and a marble staircase. The walled Italianate gardens, with an orangery and a grotto, are the only privately owned gardens in Malta that are open to the public.
The palace also hosts a restaurant, afternoon tea and events. Groups can arrange visits outside the regular opening hours by appointment.
