About the museum
The Heemschuur De Stee is the local history museum of Teteringen, a village in the municipality of Breda. The collection is housed in a Flemish barn on the Zuringveld. It belongs to the heritage association Teterings Erfdeel, founded in October 1991, which in addition to the museum also looks after the Sint-Jozefkapel, the Mariakapel and a wayside cross in the village.
According to a description of the museum, the barn contains, among other things, a kitchen, a parlour, a side kitchen, a 1950s classroom, a chapel, as well as objects relating to various trades and agricultural implements. The association also regularly shows exhibitions by local artists in the barn and organises bike tours around Teteringen. All work, from cataloguing to supervision on opening days, is carried out by volunteers.
