About the museum
The Solexmuseum in Colijnsplaat on Noord-Beveland is dedicated to the Solex, the French moped with the motor over the front wheel. It belongs to the Stichting Solex Club Zeeland, which began in 2003 as an enthusiasts' club and has been run as a foundation since 2007. Its aim is to bring Solex enthusiasts together and inform them about the vehicles. The museum opened on April 12, 2004, on the Voorstraat, opened by Nico and Els Beckers.
The collection includes around fifty Solex mopeds from various years, as well as documentation, advertising signs, pin badges and the Solex advertising jingle (Solex-Lied). Every year the foundation organizes a tour around Noord-Beveland and a Solex race in Colijnsplaat.
